Agnes M. (nee Nolan) Dohey

It's with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our family matriarch, Agnes Dohey, our beautiful Mom (Mother), Nanny, Grand Nanny, Sister and Aunt.  Her amazing life has left us with so many cherished memories that we will hold in our hearts forever.

With family by her side on Sunday, February 18, 2024, Agnes passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, after a brief illness.

Agnes is predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Harry Dohey, her parents, Thomas and Della Nolan, numerous siblings, and many other cherished relatives.

Left with broken hearts are her eight children:

Imelda (John) Roche, Elaine (Jesse) Harris, Wayne, Corinne, Louise (Shawn) Dean, Laura (Ronnie) Linehan, Harry (Charlene), Cheryl (Tony) King

16 grandchildren:

Jessica (Tyler), Rebecca (Dennis), Richard, Cas, Geoff, Meghan (Pat), Abby (Don), Brooklynn (Scottie), Melissa, Gregory, Nick (Sara), Kayla (Travis), Zack, Joshua, Ryan & Matthew.  

Her four great grandchildren: Callie, Tucker, Lexie and Luke, and a special great granddaughter on the way.

Her loving sister Mary Curran, who will continue to comfort us with their childhood memories of growing up in The Tickles and many nieces and nephews, close friends from Hawco's Estates and the Holyrood, Marine Golden Age 50+ club.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Clare's ER and 6th Floor East for their kindness and compassionate care during Moms’ final days.

Mom enjoyed a full life with family gatherings where she often provided her delicious baked goods and home-cooked meals.  Her love of sports, specifically baseball, hockey and curling, is something to be admired. Mom thoroughly enjoyed time with her friends, playing cards, bingo, darts and attending dances. The pride and joy she felt for every accomplishment, big or small, in her families' lives was something she shared often with everyone she met.

We will always love you, Mom!

At Agnes’ request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 23rd, 2024 from 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:30 am from Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holyrood with inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Holyrood. 

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Agnes’ memory may be made to the Holy Cross Restoration Fund.
